How to setup your spreadsheet for the best mapping results

Updated: Apr 4, 2022

The No Code Map App custom map builder is designed to generate a professional quality map using just spreadsheet data.

In our first release, we can add up to 15 columns of custom data and our software will automatically differentiate between:

  1. Basic information (e.g. name, address, description, phone, website) vs

  2. Filterable data (e.g. business type, available products etc) vs

  3. Image links (bulk photo upload) vs

  4. Call-to-action links ("More details" or "Buy image" etc)

IMPORTANT

  • Columns with these headings will NOT show as filters: "name", "address"/"location", "description", "phone"/"tel", "website"

  • All other columns in your dataset will be created as filters, and if you want to add more filters, all you need to do is add a new column in your dataset

  • Multi-value filters - you can also include multi-value filters like "amenities" or "product sold", simply enter all of them in the same cell and separate each by comma (e.g. "Free WiFi, Breakfast, Parking").

Of course, to make it even easier for our users, we have also created example.csv files for each template / use-case, so you will know exactly what column headers to use. Here are some examples:

  • Accommodation listing

  • Restaurant search

  • Product locator

  • Event calendar

Of course there are many possibilities :)
